Anonymous story viewer
Watch Instagram stories secretly.
Quiet, simple, and private — your name won't appear on their "Seen" list.
No one should know about your curiosity, shh...🤫.
How it works
Three steps, and none of them ask your login.
Step 01
Get a username or profile URL
Remember the username of the profile you're interested in, or open Instagram and copy the full profile URL.
Step 02
Enter to the search field
Open StoryShh and submit the handle or URL in the search box. StoryShh will find the profile in a few seconds without a trace.
Step 03
View and explore content
Browse stories and highlights from the profile, and explore other mentioned profiles.
Why this is actually anonymous
Still worried about getting caught? Let us explain why it is safe.
No login required
You only need a username to start using this tool. There is no login form, so you never have to share your credentials.
Don't appear in the seen list
We extract medias from Instagram, so no account is added to the viewer list when you watch their stories from here.
Views aren't counted
The owner won't get any views from here. Just watch many times as you want without worry about crediting them.
Search history stays on your device
Recent searches are saved to your browser to provide better experience. We never send them our server. Only you know about them.
Scope & limits
The honest boundaries of what this tool can and can't do.
Private accounts and expired stories are not missing features. We cannot, and will not attempt to bypass this privacy setting.
| Content | Public account | Private account |
|---|---|---|
| Active storiesAt the moment you search, you'll see which stories they have posted. | Supported | Not reachable |
| HighlightsStay on the profile until the owner removes them. | Supported | Not reachable |
| Expired storiesInstagram deletes stories after 24 hours after they're posted. You can check the latest highlights to see if they kept them. | Gone | Gone |
| Viewer listYou can only see your own viewer list in the Instagram app, and it's only for 48 hours. | Not possible | Not possible |
When use it
Reasons people would rather not be seen.
No Instagram account
You may be a social-media-free person, but sometimes you want to visit their profiles just once and leave. You don't want to create an account and show up like a bot account in their "seen" list.
Don't want to be a top viewer
You just want to find out more about them and watch too much of their content. Unfortunately, this curiosity makes you appear in the top list. It's a little embarrassing, right?
No engagement
Just because you randomly click on their profile and credit a view or accidentally create some engagement, you don't want to be suggested in their feed, or have your feed flooded with ads or anything related to them.
Review your own
It's a bit weird, but you'll want to make sure the quality, the people you mention, the call-to-action, etc. show exactly as you expected, without inflating your own stats.
From our users
What people are saying.
"I was not sure about the 'anonymous' thing until I looked at my own story viewer list, and there was no added view, no account showing up. That is the only proof I needed."
"I use this every day for competitor research, no login, no footprint, no weird questions about why I'm watching their stories at 11 PM."
"Everything is smooth. StoryShh has a clean UI that brings you a good experience when browsing stories. Many helpful details like timestamps, total stories, etc."
FAQ
Straight answers.
No. You simply do it silently. They get no notification, no view, and no entry added to the "Seen by" list.
This tool is designed to work without any account. Even if you've never used Instagram, it still works. You use StoryShh directly on its website, so you just need a device with an internet connection and any browser.
Full features are 100% free. We don't offer any premium tier to limit your usage.
No. We cannot reach private accounts. Only their approved followers can view them.
Only if the owner saved it to a Highlight. Stories are automatically removed after 24 hours.
Saving something an account has already made public for personal, private use is not a privacy bypass, and that is all this does. However, reusing, sharing, or using it commercially still requires permission and attribution.
